Here is a great tool to pre-prime your fuel system.
When you have a dry system as when installing a new system you need to prime the pump or it will run dry and possibly damage it.
Basically you put a very light air pressure in the fuel tank (no more than 12psi can use air compressor or a bicycle pump) this will push fuel into the system, BUT! you must open
the air bleed on top of the FFM or disconnect a hose nearest to injection pump as you can.
Once you see any fuel coming from FFM or your hose reconnect/tighten the hose/FFM then release pressure on the tank.
The system should have enough fuel in it for the pump to start pumping. If not repeat the process.
This tool could also be helpful in finding leaks in your system or even as a diagnostic to see if your fuel delivery system is a problem.
If you can’t get fuel from FFM/hose then you may have a dirty sock, filter…..or….??
This tool can be used on many other applications as a lot of fuel caps have the same thread.
