This valve cover girdle is designed to greatly spread the clamping force around the entire valve cover.
NOW! Also available is a optional Silicone enforced gasket. It is reusable. It mounts between the head and cover to create the seal. It is still recommended to use a thin bead of black RTV on both sides of this gasket to account for imperfections on the two surfaces. The cork/rubber gasket in the standard kit go’s on the outside of the cover to spread the load evenly over the irregular surface of the valve cover.
